Tourism minister opens new reception facility at Harlech holiday park

A new £500,000 reception facility at Min-y-Don Holiday Park in Harlech, Wales, was officially opened by Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Lord Elis-Thomas, this month.

The 15-acre Min-y-Don Holiday Park, owned by Salop Caravans, has 100 fully-serviced caravan and motorhome pitches, nestled below Harlech Castle and alongside Royal St David's Golf Club.

The park's new reception facility has an air-conditioned visitors' area with a hotel-style reception desk and seating, office, boardroom, books, games and DVD library, and toilets on the ground floor. A spiral staircase rises to first-floor customer service and sales office which enjoys panoramic views of the golf course, castle and surrounding hills.

Lord Elis-Thomas said he was delighted to open the “splendid” reception facility at the park and commended the owners for their good work. “Harlech has so much to offer the visitor: the castle, a World Heritage Site and one of the Europe’s top golf courses sat next to outstanding beaches in an unbeatable landscape,” he said.
