South Lytchett Manor wins best campsite award
The AA has named Dorset's South Lytchett Manor as the best campsite in the country. It has also rated the family-run campsite as the best in Wales and Scotland, making it the overall Campsite of The Year in its prestigious AA Caravan and Camping Guide 2016.
The accolade is awarded every year based on a rigorous assessment procedure which examines all aspects of over 900 campsites and takes into account customer care, quality and cleanliness of facilities standard of public areas, range of amenities, size and layout of pitches and quality of grounds and landscaping.
The South Lytchett Manor inspection report earned an impressive five pennants and a 96% approval rating. It also made particular mention of some of the site's recent improvements including:
* Additional fully serviced pitches making 85 fully serviced pitches in total.
* New bike hire facility with new top quality bikes for all ages.
* Wi-Fi around the whole site.
* New web site with a site video.
* Spotlessly clean and well appointed facilities.
* Handy bus stop by main gates.
* Excellent customer care
A spokesperson for the AA said, "Pitches are spacious and varied and many are fully serviced. Their ethos is very much ‘customer is king’ and everyone connected with the park goes out of their way to ensure their guests are looked after from arrival to departure, nothing is too much trouble. This very high level of customer care really sets South Lytchett Manor apart and many of their guests return time after time because of it."
Joanne Bridgen for South Lytchett, commented, "We're absolutely delighted. Many thanks to the AA for this accolade and as always, heartfelt thanks to our guests, who have supported us through the last few years and helped us turn South Lytchett Manor into such a success."
The full list of all the AA's regional campsite winners will be announced in early 2016.
