Get active outdoors for National Camping and Caravanning Week

The Camping and Caravanning Club has joined forces with the British Mountaineering Council to encourage us to get active outdoors.

This year, National Camping and Caravanning Week runs from May 28 to June 3, to coincide with the Bank Holiday, and is the Club’s annual celebration of all things camping and the outdoors.

By teaming up with the British Mountaineering Council, the Club wants to highlight the need for footpath repair work in the UK’s 15 National Parks.

As part of the efforts to raise awareness, plans are also underway to illuminate the Great Ridge in the Peak District at night in May, with Julia Bradbury at the forefront. The spectacular ‘Great Ridge Light Night’ is being led by the BMC and will involve hundreds of volunteers illuminating the landmark by torchlight.
