Club plants trees to celebrate Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
The Caravan and Motorhome Club is planting trees on its campsites this year as part of an initiative that’s been created to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is asking people from across the UK to ‘plant a tree for the Jubilee’. The Club is planning to plant 2022 trees across its 200-plus campsites.
All trees will be native species from ‘Plant Healthy’ certified suppliers and include green beech, field maple, common alder, common oak, rowan, hornbeam and bird cherry, wild cherry and silver birch. Over 1,200 trees have already been planted over the winter season.
Caravan and Motorhome Club Director General, Nick Lomas, said,
We are proud to pledge our support to The Queen’s Green Canopy. Tree planting is one of the most engaging and environmentally friendly activities that people can take part in and help to enrich the planet. The benefits of tree planting and the removal of carbon from the atmosphere benefit the wider population, not just those who live or stay the most locally.
