Camping Kit For Kids
Looking for ideas to kit out your children this summer? Here’s five camping products youngsters will love.
1 OUTWELL BAT BOY RANGE
Expect to pay £4.99 - £30
www.outwell.co.uk
Kids love having their own special camping gear and this range of kit allows them to have everything that mum and dad has, but in a smaller size. As well as looking good, with the bat-themed design, everything is superbly made and comes with little extras. The sleeping bag (£30) for instance has a big pocket on the front and a built in torch, as well as a hood and insulation round the shoulder area. The folding table (£15) has a useful side pocket for pens etc and comes with a Tic Tac Toe game. The range also includes a self-inflating mat (£26.99), pillow (£7.99), drinking bottle (£4.99) and folding chair (£15). There is also a butterfly themed range aimed at girls (although we reckon plenty girls will love the bat version too).
2 KOZI KIDZ VIND FLEECE
Expect to pay £39
www.kozikidz.com
Kozi Kidz provides a range of practical but colourful clothes for youngsters that are designed to let them enjoy the outdoors, whatever the weather. That makes them a perfect match for camping. The Vind is a soft and comfortable fleece for youngsters, with water resistant fabric and an extra membrane layer that provides additional wind protection. It’s available in three typically vibrant colours, blue, berry or orange.
3 VANGO JUNIOR WILDERNESS PENGUIN KIDS’ SLEEPING BAG
Expect to pay £28
www.vango.co.uk
P-p-p-pick up a penguin for bedtime. After the success of their cow-print design kids’ bag, Vango have left the farm and gone to the zoo for inspiration. This is a good quality mummy shaped bag with soft touch fabrics and extras, including an internal pocket and zip guards to prevent snagging.
4 LITTLELIFE ANIMAL LUNCH PACKS
Expect to pay £10
www.littlelife.co.uk
Cute as kids, eh? Get your little darling one of these and they can bloomin’ well help carry some stuff. LittleLife’s latest Animal Lunch Packs are designed to swallow a small picnic or some generous snacks, and come in five hard-to-miss designs – Ladybird, Dinosaur, Bee, Clownfish and Turtle. Inside, there’s a small mesh pocket in the lid, ideal for an ice pack or some cutlery, and there’s a wipe-clean lining to the main compartment. Each Lunch Pack also has a name and address tag and a padded grab handle. You’ll have probably spotted the family resemblance, too. These are a perfect complement to LittleLife’s Animal Toddler daysacks and Wheelie Duffles.
5 BOGS KIDS RAINBOOT
Expect to pay £35
www.bogsfootwear.com
Campsites can be soggy places, with plenty of opportunities for youngsters to get their feet wet. So to keep them dry, warm and comfortable when jumping around in puddles wellies are essential. Bogs range of boots for youngsters look good but are robust and practical. As you’d hope, the Kids Rainboot is 100% waterproof and suited to warmer temperatures. The boots are made with a soft and flexible natural rubber upper that should withstand any shower or muddy puddle and feature a handle to make pulling them on easier. As with all Bogs boots, the Rainboot has a DuraFresh odour protection insole to feet feeling fresh and a non-slip outsole for added safety on slick surfaces.
