Park Cliffe Camping and Caravan Estate, Cumbria

8b370fda-c93a-4ff5-9549-516704279338
A magnificent mountain setting, overlooking a lake and, in the distance, the high peaks of the Lake District – Park Cliffe Holiday Park enjoys one of Britain’s most spectacular campsite locations.

It’s a perfect place in which to relax and unwind.

Limestone outcrop punctuates a beautiful undulating camping area called Fell Side that rises up a hillside from a shallow stream. If you pitch at the top of this slope you will have views of the Langdale Pikes and of Lake Windermere, for Park Cliffe is near to its southern shore.

Choose a pitch in another section, called Ghyll Side, and you have a different view of Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. You can also have electric-hook-ups in this area if you wish.

The caravan-and-motorhome section has large limestone-chipping-surfaced hardstandings, created on levelled areas that follow the natural contours of the land. Each pitch has water and drainage points as well as mains power.

Walks lead from the site in all directions, some strenuous, some easy terrain. The reception office has information that will guide you on the best walks.

Facilities match the fantastic, picturesque location. All centrally heated, the complex gives you showers, some with cubicles large enough to shower young children, a bathroom, plus family bathrooms that you can hire for the duration of your stay.

The park’s cottage-style bar and restaurant serves meals from breakfast onwards. There are washing-up sinks, a laundry, a licensed shop – Park Cliffe has it all.
