Veepod is here.  Conserve space in your campervan. Extend the scope of your living area with the Veepod double bed system which is innovative and unique to the market. The whole system is very simple and quick for a single person to load and lock into the back of any van regardless of the door and hinge system. Taking up only 25 cm of depth when folded this is the slimmest double bed on the market.

Erection is very straight forward. Just lift the Veepod into the back of the van, engage the restraining strap onto the door seal and then push the cassette forward to tighten these. At bedtime release the travel catch and fold out the bed. This needs little effort. Now fit the collar and draught (draft?) strip, if required.  Then install the mattress, if it has been necessary to remove it for lightness, and the bed is now ready for use.

The first model currently on sale is tailored to VW T5 and T6. This is to be followed shortly by the T4. In August we will extend the range to cover the General Motors Vivara/Traffic and the Ford Transit Custom. Full specifications for these will be available shortly so that people will be able to plan their conversions.

The design parameters included light weight for ease of erection. A simple framework of anodised Aluminium was adopted after trials with Glassfibre and Stainless Steel proved too heavy. Without the mattress the installing weight is under 25 kg. The mattress is easily placed in position when the bed is opened and remains until the whole unit is removed. The system is suitable for a night or weekend use as well as for extended camping holidays. With a pop-up roof fitted your van is immediately a four-berther with a fully available living area even when the Veepod is deployed.

The system will prove popular with tradesmen who have to work away from home as the load space is only marginally reduced. If needed the unit can be pushed to one side so that the full load length is available.
