Four nights in Norwich from £38!

Are you looking for somewhere to take your motorhome, caravan or tent this summer?

The Norfolk Motorhome Show takes place on the outskirts of Norwich on 22-24 July. It’s a city where an unrivalled collection of heritage landmarks, blend beautifully with striking 21st century architecture. It’s a city alive with atmosphere, compact enough to make you feel at home in days, but with enough sights, local delights and cultural vibrancy to entertain you for weeks. In fact, Norwich and the surrounding areas boast such a vast choice of places to visit and things to do, four nights with us might not be enough! Why not tag on a few nights away before or after the show too? Whilst you’re thinking, we’ve shortlisted ten of our favourites for you.

1. Norwich City Centre
The city centre is home to all the big brand names as well individual boutiques. There are two large indoor shopping centres, plus a whole host of pretty streets lined with independent retailers. Once you’ve dined in one of the fantastic selection of eateries be sure to check out the market, the largest open-air market in the country with over 200 stalls. It’s been on its present site for 900 years!

2. Explore the Norfolk Broads
Head to Wroxham to discover the county’s waterways. Within 30 minutes of the showground, you can join a scheduled boat trip or hire a self-drive for a few hours fun with family or friends.

3. Bure Valley Railway
Norfolk's longest narrow gauge heritage railway runs through 9 miles of beautiful countryside between Aylsham and Wroxham. Once you’ve enjoyed your journey you can visit the Whistlestop Café, gift shop and model railway shop at Aylsham.

4. Banham Zoo
The children will have finished school for the summer holidays so if you’re bringing your little ones or even your grandchildren why not head to the zoo which is just twenty miles away from Norfolk Showground.

5. Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery
One of the city's most famous landmarks, Norwich Castle was built by the Normans as a Royal Palace 900 years ago. Now a museum and art gallery, it is home to some of the most outstanding collections of fine art, archaeology and natural history and is packed with treasures to inspire and intrigue visitors of all ages.

6. St Georges Distillery
Home of the English Whisky Company. The distillery is open to the public 7 days a week and is well worth a visit. Do a tour to see the gleaming copper stills or just browse the shop where you can find over 200 different whiskies for sale and a wonderful selections of gift ideas.

7. Thursford Collection
See the world’s largest collection of steam engines and organs, hear Robert Wolfe one of the world's leading theatre organists play the mighty Wurlitzer at 1.30pm and 3pm daily, ride on fairground carousels and the gondola, enjoy "Back Stage Tours" and watch silent movies.

8. Grab a Bargain
Once you’ve browsed the shows exhibition area, why not sniff out a bargain at the giant car boot sale on Sunday mornings at the Costessey Park & Ride car park. This is opposite the camper’s entrance to the showground.

9. Norwich Family Golf Centre
If you’re keen golfers make sure you pack the clubs in the back of the ‘van. Next to the showground is the Norwich Family Golf Centre which is home to a 9 hole course, a driving range, Congo Rapids Adventure Golf and a sports bar.

10. City Sightseeing – Tours of Norwich
Discover Norwich aboard the open top bus. Hop on, hop off service. Nine stops near to the main attractions, railway and bus stations. On board commentary. Tickets valid 24 hours. Starts outside Theatre Royal on Theatre Street at 1030. Runs hourly until 1530. Duration approx 45 mins.
