Wales parks judged blooming marvellous

Green-fingered staff at four North Wales holiday parks owned by Thornley Leisure have made a colourful splash in the 2015 Wales in Bloom awards, just announced.

The Beach Caravan Park and Maenan Abbey Caravan Park, both in Conwy, beat hundreds of other eligible parks throughout Wales to take awards.

The Beach came first in the category for parks with more than 100 holiday homes and Maenan Abbey was the overall category winner for parks with fewer than 100 units.

There were honours too for Dinlle Caravan Park near Caernarfon and Craiglwyd Hall Caravan Park.

The parks offer caravan holiday homes for sale and for hire and attract families from inside and outside Wales, as well as from overseas.

“Our displays of flowers add an extra layer of pleasure to coming here for holidays, and also play an important role in providing nectar for honey bees and butterflies," said David Thornley of Thornley.
