Visitors demand wireless internet

CARAVAN owners are becoming frustrated at having to go off site to find wireless internet connections to surf the net for local information while on holiday, according to the UK’s leading wireless specialist.

Wireless LAN Source, based in Welshpool, Wales, says that with internet searches now more popular than phone books and tourist information offices, there is a growing need for wider internet availability and caravan parks are losing out to coffee chains and fast food outlets that offer wireless internet access, sometimes for free.

“Enquiries from caravan owners tripled this year,” said Jeremy Rollinson of Wireless LAN Source. “Park owners need to realise they are missing out on a valuable commercial opportunity by not installing wireless internet. With TV shows and films increasingly being broadcast over the internet the possibilities are endless.”

And he added, “No matter how remote the park, wireless networks are affordable to install and can be up and running in just one day. It  can deliver an immediate return on investment.”

Wireless LAN Source has helped a number of parks get the most from a wireless network and has also worked with local councils and large private organisations to set in place a network with guaranteed coverage.
