The best residents' association in the UK

And the winner is… Lion House Park, Hailsham, East Sussex. Put your hands together, please, for the Residents’ Association of the Year.

This year saw the launch of what is planned to be an annual event promoting and encouraging residents’ associations on park-home estates across the country.

It is being sponsored jointly by Towergate, specialists in park-home insurance, and Park Home Chassis Services. PHCS are experts in chassis refurbishment.

Lion House, part of the Berkeleyparks group, came first in the event this year because of their wide range of well-supported activities. They include games nights, exercise sessions, short-mat bowls, bingo, art classes, all sorts of meals, quiz nights, dances, coffee mornings, an Easter hat parade, beetle drives, visits to the theatre, all sorts.

Planned for coming weeks are a Christmas dinner (sold out in previous years) and a New Year’s Eve party.

Runners up this year were Turners Hill at Crawley, West Sussex. Their residents’ association were instrumental in the speed limit on the road leading to the park being reduced from 60mph to 40mph. Supported by the police, residents monitor the speed of passing vehicles to ensure compliance.
