PARKS ARE ‘A BEACON’ FOR UK TOURISM

20ec0d65-382e-422a-a5d8-2cc6ac7fac9b
Holiday parks have succeeded more than any other tourism sector in anticipating the changing expectations of holidaymakers and delivering consistently on quality, service and value.
That's the view of Wales park-group owner Huw Pendleton, who has just become the new chairman of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association.
The Association, to which almost 3,000 parks belong, represents a £4 billion industry. Members also include residential parks.
Stepping into his new role, Mr Pendleton said that one of the greatest strengths of the holiday parks sector has been its ability constantly to innovate, evolve, and to drive up standards.
‘Parks provide a beacon for sustaining world-class status for UK tourism’ he added.
Mr Pendleton is the founder of the Celtic Holiday Parks group, which owns three top-rated parks in Pembrokeshire, and is also a board member of the Wales Tourism Alliance.
As association chairman, he will take on a range of responsibilities, including talks with regional, national and European governments on issues affecting the parks industry.
Among the new business projects the new chairman is currently steering is a new near-million pound development of additional leisure and catering facilities at his Croft Holiday Park.
