The Cotswolds, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty renowned for its gold-coloured stone, has become a magnet for people.
One of the main gateways from the south east is the old Roman market town of Cirencester in Gloucestershire. And it is here, just a couple of miles to the south east of the town centre, that you will find Wildwood Park. This residential park-home estate can trace its roots back to the 1960s, perhaps even earlier. But over recent years it has been completely redeveloped with new infrastructure including mains gas, resurfaced roads, new kerbing and a central green dotted with trees to act as a focal point.
On three sides you look out across open fields. There are 73 plots in total on Wildwood with more than a third offering direct views across those fields.
The oldest date back to the early 1970s but regardless of age, they are all in pristine condition with plenty of evidence of tlc, likewise the gardens.
A Tarmac ring road with spurs gives access to the individual homes on this rectangular-shaped park, which is all on the level. Each of the separate roads is named after a wild flower.
Those who like messing about in, on or by the water will be attracted by the proximity of Cotswold Water Park, just five miles away. Here, at the UK’s largest marl lake system, you can enjoy birdwatching, angling, boat trips, cycling, horse riding, swimming, canoeing, sailing, water skiing, all sorts.
Plot fees at Wildwood are £169.83 per calendar month. Previously-owned homes start at £89,950 (for a 1988 32ftx20 Tingdene Dolben Lodge). Minimum age is 50 and pets are allowed.
