New Five-Star Touring Park for Melton Mowbray

b0965dd1-3eb3-4dcc-80e2-1f6488a3aa2b
NEW for 2012 is the Eye Kettleby Lakes Touring & Camping park, which opens for business on March 30. The adults-only touring park has been awarded the maximum rating of five stars by Enjoy England and features 59 pitches surrounded by glorious rolling countryside.

Set four miles to the south west of the pretty market town of Melton Mowbray, Eye Kettleby Lakes is set in 150-acres of land and was developed from farmland. The lodges came first and are very high-spec log cabins, with the flagship models offering saunas, jacuzzis and balconies overlooking one of the fishing lakes.

There are seven fishing lakes in total, stocked with a variety of species and the fisherman (or camper) can unwind at the end of the day in the clubhouse, a large log-cabin building that houses a real ale bar, lounge with plush leather furniture and a pool table.

They were putting the finishing touches to the touring park during our visit, but both motorhomers and caravanners alike will love the views from the pitches and appreciate the fantastic toilet blocks (one at either end of the park). Each toilet block features individual private washrooms that include eco-friendly lighting (actuated by a solenoid in the door), loo, shower, sink and soothing music.

There's also a laundry room that features smart stainless steel washing up sinks and industrial washing machines.

Access to the site is via a secure barrier and the circular layour leads around a fishing lake fringed with picnic benches. Both grassed and tarmac hardstanding pitches are offered, with the hook-ups being 16 amp capacity.

The superior pitches also feature fresh and waste water connections (the waste being centrally placed on the tarmac pitch making it particularly convenient for motorhomes) as well as having a TV connection point. These are at least 10m by 10m in size with three being extra large - the largest of the trio offering a whopping 18m in length.

For 2012 the site opens on March 30, but will open for all year for 2013 onwards.

Eye Ketteby Lakes is to the south west of Melton Mowbray and best accessed from the A607 (it's clearly signed off this road).
