CHICHESTER holiday park operator Bunn Leisure is the latest major park operator to enforce a no-smoking policy throughout its sites. However, die-hard smokers wishing to visit the park needn't panic just yet as Bunn Leisure has invested significantly in new facilities to ensure smokers don't feel alienated.
Operations Director Mike Caven commented: "We are pleased to be implementing our no-smoking policy ahead of Government legislation and in time for the new season. We feel it is important that all our guests should have the right to enjoy a smoke-free atmosphere and this is particularly important for a family-orientated park such as ours.
The park's smoking ban will not apply to outdoor areas but will prohibit smoking in all park-owned accommodation and all enclosed public areas of the park, including its ten bars and restaurants and leisure complex.
The smoke-free legislation prohibits smoking in all enclosed or substantially enclosed public premises and requires businesses to provide adequate no smoking signage. Wales will be next to implement the ban on April 2 followed by Northern Ireland on the April 30.
