Insurance firm staff donate gifts for children
Staff at Yorkshire-based insurance firms, Caravan Guard and Leisuredays, are celebrating a year of donations to child poverty charity, Mothershare
For the past year, a gift has been donated to the charity’s Birthday Bundle Appeal every time it’s a staff member’s birthday – an appeal which ensures a child who would otherwise have very little, receives a gift to open on their special day.
In the last 12 months, the team has donated 120 gifts worth more than £2,300, including 11 Lego sets, 13 dolls, 11 arts and crafts sets, 35 educational toys and 17 beauty gifts.
Mothershare provides essential supplies to vulnerable families across Calderdale, West Yorkshire.
The charity‘s founder, Kim Shedden, says,
We’re extremely grateful for the constant supply of birthday gifts from Caravan Guard for children of all ages so we can spread some joy on their special day.
Laura Wilby, Associate Director at Caravan Guard, adds,
We’ve loved sharing our birthdays and making sure Mothershare have had a constant supply of goodies to help make a birthday girl or boy smile on their special day.
For the year ahead, Caravan Guard will be donating a book to another local charity, Unique Ways, on each staff member’s birthday.
