Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes sold to S.E.K Manufacturing Ltd

Shepherd Group spokesman Kurt Calder said: 'We have agreed to sell the business in order to secure the future of Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes and safeguard the jobs of its committed employees.

Over the past 5 years the general decline in the performance of the housing market has impacted greatly on the business which has made a series of large operating losses during that period. With the Shepherd Group's wide range of companies operating successfully and profitably in the engineering, manufacturing and built environment secrors, Homeseeker no longer formed part of the Group's core strategy for future growth. The decision to sell the business to a manufacturer with significant expertise in this sector represented the best option for the future well-being of the business and its workforce.'

Silvano Geranio of S.E.K Manufacturing Limited said: 'We have a strong desire to secure the future of park home and lodge manufacturing at Rushden. We intend to operate Homeseeker as a standalone business which will be seperate from S.E.K Manufacturing's shareholders' other business interests in the industry, specifically Prestige's manufacturing plant at Kettering which will continue to operate in its current form for the foreseeable future. With the Director's joint industry knowledge and expertise, we feel with the skills and experience of the existing personnel, we can make this site profitable and viable for its long term future.

Shepherd Group provided me and my fellow Directors with the opportunity to invest in the best facitiy in park home and lodge manufacturing in the UK. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Directors at Shepherd Group for their invaluable support during the negotiations.

Finally to all past and existing customers we look forward to a mutually successful continued relationship and hope to meet you in person soon.'
