The director of this Premier Park, Henry Wild comments that "we will monitor the rainfall every day in a scientific collector on our reception roof".
"If it's ever wetter than an average July day in Cumbria for last year, then the free stays will kick in."
The level for this gauge has been set at two millimetres of rain, which is slightly below last years July average, and if it exceeds this level in a 24 hour period then each person on the park will be offered a free nights stay that can be taken at any time in the year.
With 150 pitches on the holiday park, this could potentially cost Skelwith Fold up to £3,000 per night!
