DARTMOOR HOLIDAY PARK AIMS TO PROVIDE PEACE’N’QUIET

A national park in the West Country is a magnet for people looking to enjoy their leisure time. So it’s no wonder they are attracted to Webland Farm, which lies on the south-eastern edge of Dartmoor.Turn in at the entrance and the park is spread out before and below you; sloping downwards to the farm buildings which house reception and 49 holiday caravans grouped around a large central grassy space; upwards to where 28 leisure lodges are sited in a separate part of this 24-acre park.
Unusually, Webland also includes plots for four residential park homes. One of these was vacant when I visited, a six-year-old 40x20 Wessex up for sale for £165,000 with a monthly plot fee of £125.
There are no amenities such as bars, shops, swimming pools and on-site entertainment at Webland. The emphasis is on the location; peace and quiet in a rural setting with tranquil views. Park managers Sharon and Rob Luscombe make sure everything runs smoothly.
For all the usual amenities, including plenty of entertainment and sports, visit Plymouth, 17 miles to the south west, or Exeter, 29 miles to the north east, both reached via the nearby A38.
At the time of my visit to Webland there was a 40x20 Wessex Classic leisure lodge show home available for sale at £140,000. Two twin plots were vacant, each suitable for a 40x20 leisure lodge, plus one 36x12 plot suitable for a holiday caravan.
Pitch fees, depending upon plot, are £1,822.05 - £2,001.76 per annum for a static caravan; £2,349.64 - £2,561.50 per annum for a leisure lodge. For more details visit www.weblandfarmlodges.com
