Heating systems can be mystifying – unless you’re an engineer, of course. Question: Do you know a heat exchange from a combustion fan? And do you know what a modulating gas valve is? Few people do. Significantly, even fewer people know the cost of such things should they go wrong.

Flamesure carried out a survey and discovered that 98% of people surveyed did not appreciate the cost of repairs to parts should their park home boiler break down.

When you add up the costs for the gas engineer being called out, labour plus costs of materials and parts, most boiler breakdown repairs actually cost more than FlameSure’s Boiler Breakdown Insurance had you taken out that policy.

The cost of repairs to your boiler varies of course, depending on the fault or severity of repair but you can expect to pay anything from around £150 for a minor repair such as replacing a boiler fan, or printed circuit board, to around £400 for replacing the whole heat exchange or gas valve. The boiler itself can cost thousands should you have to replace it completely.

Why risk it for cover starting from £2.79 a week, that works out at less than 40p a day for peace of mind.

Flamesure’s Boiler Breakdown Cover is specifically tailored for park homes.

The policy includes an annual service of your boiler; Flamesure visits your home and carries out the service each year to check your boiler, to make sure it is safe and keep it in good working order.

Outside of a policy, the cost of an annual service usually starts at about £75 for a basic check, or around £100 (£130 for certain types of boilers) for a full service and repair such as cleaning the boiler and/or resetting the pressure.  With Flamesure this annual servicing cost is already included in our cover.
