HOLLICARRS is part of the historic rural 6,000 acre Escrick Park near York, which has been owned by the same family for 350 years.

The current owner, Charles Forbes Adam, wanted to create an extra special type of experience for holiday home owners. With the beauty of the environment at Escrick Park they are already hugely committed to conservation and have won awards for this work. In everything Escrick Park do, the environment is of paramount importance and the care and attention put into the planning stage of Hollicarrs was carried through to produce what is seen today and great care has been taken so as not to disturb the eco balance existing there. This was recognised when they were awarded their fifth David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation for the fifth year running and the 5-Star VisitBritain Award for an exceptional park within the first year of opening and held since, and they were recently in the final for the White Rose Awards for an Exceptional Holiday Park. These awards emphasise the care and attention that has been applied to the development of Hollicarrs. On entering Hollicarrs, it really is a breathtaking experience and it really can boast that this holiday park is simply like no other - a beautiful, peaceful, natural leafy haven to be enjoyed all-year-round with the advantage of the 12 month licence. Opened in September 2008, the second phase of Hollicarrs, Harts’ Nook, provided a further 40 exclusive pitches for accommodating the spacious luxury 22’ x 50’ lodges. Set in very beautiful woodland surroundings, privacy is guaranteed, giving a natural escape away from the stresses and strains of the everyday hustle and bustle. Hollicarrs is located eight miles from the historic city of York and five miles from the old market town of Selby. Local villages can supply the daily staples, but also provide excellent restaurants such as The Old Spice Mill at Riccall and the Sang Thai restaurant in Escrick. For good pub grub, The Drovers Arms at Skipwith, Black Bull in Escrick and White Swan at Deighton all have good reputations and are a five minute drive from Hollicarrs. If you prefer to simply enjoy the peace and quiet, there are miles of nature trails through the woodland, including a dedicated footpath through the woods and beyond to reach Skipwith Common Nature Reserve, also owned by Escrick Park and a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’ which was also recently awarded National Status. Skipwith Common supports many interesting plants, insects, birds and animals and provides miles of nature trails to enjoy. Future plans at Escrick Park includes a Farm Shop with café.
