Outdoor brand Keen has launched two new styles of walking and hiking boots for 2016. The new Wanderer WP (£120) is a sleek, premium hiker with a European fit and feel. It has been created as a semi mid-cut to combine the flexibility of a shoe with the support and comfort of a mid-cut boot. This hybrid concept delivers a balance of flexibility and protection allowing outdoor explorers to focus on the adventure afoot.

The Wanderer WP features a direct-inject construction technique that attaches a high-quality nubuck and suede leather upper directly to the PU midsole for long lasting comfort and durability. The semi mid-cut shaft is equipped with a KEEN.DRY membrane and a hydrophobic mesh lining for breathability and comfort in a wide range of conditions, whilst a soft collar gives comfort and instant ankle protection. An integrated heel cushion locks directly into a lightweight EVA footbed for comfort and shock absorption whilst a dual-compound rubber outsole ensures reliable grip and robust performance from groomed trails to challenging terrains.

The new Madeira Trail (£140) is designed for more technical ascents and longer backpacking trips in fair weather. This European-made hiker for women and men is crafted from highly water-resistant oiled nubuck leather and is furnished with a luxurious leather lining and durable metal eyelets. Constructed with Keen’s proprietary, direct-inject PU midsole this high spec workhorse is extremely durable and has been robustly built to resist compaction over the long haul. A full length shank offers stability and midfoot support over unpredictable terrain whilst  a  dual compound rubber outsole ensures enhanced traction and grip on diverse terrains . An integrated PU heel cushion offers step-in comfort and maximises shock absorption, whilst a metatomical EVA footbed adds extra comfort and support.
