Swift reveals all-new Monza campervan

The new Swift Monza

The new compact campervan, which starts at £58,395, is aimed at couples and young families. It is built on the automatic 128bhp (130PS) Ford Tourneo Custom (the 168bhp/170PS automatic version is a £3,895 option), which has a similar footprint to a standard family car, and so can be used as an everyday passenger vehicle as well as for getaways.

The exterior is available as standard in a grey metallic exterior with a choice of three optional exterior colours, as well as 17in alloy wheels and chrome detailing. Inside, it comes with a choice of two interior schemes – light cream or deep grey with the option for a part-leather ‘Crest Black and Mazerati’ interior at £1,195.

The bedroom and kitchen

There is a three-person rock ‘n’ roll rear bench seat that can be pushed backwards and forwards on runners and converts into a double bed. There is a further double bed in the rising roof, making it a four-berth campervan that is able to carry up to five people in belted seats. The side kitchen is equipped with a two-burner gas hob, 42-litre drawer fridge and sink. There is also an external barbecue point and the option for a Dometic mini-grill (£195).

The gadgets on board

In the cab, the high-spec base vehicle has Ford’s latest ICE Pack 23, featuring DAB radio with 8in touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth phone syncing and steering wheel controls. There are also front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera, cruise control and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Further equipment includes a 100W solar panel and 2.2kW Eberspächer diesel heating. There’s also an external shower point and a Dometic portable toilet, hidden in a dedicated space.
