Sustainable insulation material launched for leisure vehicles
A new sound and thermal insulation material for the inner and outer walls of caravans, campervans and motorhomes has been launched
Developed and produced by British company, Interflex, the new material – called Ocean – is lightweight, mouldable and made from 100% polyester, 80% of which is comprised of recycled materials – 1kg is the equivalent of 80 recycled plastic water bottles. Ocean can also be recycled at the end of its life.
Already approved for use at a major OEM, Ocean is designed to reduce sound and improve thermal insulation, and is said to create a “warmer, quieter and more energy-efficient experience for leisure vehicle owners”.
Interflex, which is based in Langar, Nottinghamshire, is best known for creating NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) parts and sealing solutions for the automotive industry, but is now also focusing on creating sustainable solutions, such as Ocean.
Jim Griffin, MD of Interflex, says,
