Outwell designs new drive-away awning range for campervans

Scandinavian camping brand, Outwell, has launched its new Active Collection of lightweight and compact drive-away awnings, ideal for campervans. 

Made from weather-proof Outtex 3000 Select polyester and using alloy poles, storm web tapes and the Outwell Wind Stabiliser System, the collection is said to withstand up to Force 10 storms. Each awning also includes Outwell's HookTrack System, guy line retainers and double beading (5mm and 7mm) to secure against the campervan.

The Active Collection includes two drive-away awnings, a tarp and side panel set:

Lakecrest awning

The Lakecrest provides ample living space with a detachable bathtub groundsheet. Entry can be made via the front door or using the space that connects the awning to the camper, creating an area in which to leave muddy boots before entering the awning or campervan. It features large side mesh windows with waterproof curtains and a large, roll-away front opening.

Woodcrest awning

The Woodcrest awning can be used to the side or at the rear of a campervan, with a tall roof designed to allow for an open tailgate or swing door. Like the Lakecrest, it also has large side mesh windows with waterproof curtains and a large, roll-away front opening. Meanwhile, roll-away front triangular side wall extensions provide access and protection options. In the Woodcrest, the bathtub-style groundsheet can be removed if using the awning for storage or outdoor gear.

Hillcrest tarp

Provide shade, shelter and privacy using the Hillcrest tarp and poles, which attaches to a wind-out awning or direct to the vehicle. Ideal for quick stopovers or lunch breaks that don't require a full awning, the Hillcrest can be partially or completely rolled up when needed, and the angle can easily be adjusted.

Fallcrest side panel set

Attached using heavy duty Outwell zips, this side panel set can be used with a wind out/roll out awning or tarp to provide extra shelter and privacy. Like the Hillcrest, the angle can be adjusted and the sides rolled up if needed. The rear panel is shorter than the front to allow for the use of a sliding door and both panels can be guyed out using king poles (sold separately).
