Niesmann+Bischoff launches all-new lightweight luxury motorhome

German premium motorhome manufacturer, Niesmann+Bischoff, has launched its all-new iSmove luxury lightweight A-class.

The new iSmove is said to break all the rules, incorporating features that previously would have required a five-tonne motorhome. Instead, this all-new A-class has just a 3,500kg gross weight, which means anyone with a standard car licence can drive it.

Its design is so new that Niesmann+Bischoff has applied for seven patents to cover its innovations.

Externally, this could only be a Niesmann+Bischoff, showing a clear family resemblance to its larger Arto and Flair A-class models, but quality has not been sacrificed, insists the maker, with construction including two-sided aluminium sandwich walls and Styrofoam insulation.

Inside, there are numerous new features, including a rotating nearside bench seat that adds two seatbelted places for rear passengers.

The washroom incorporates a sliding wall to hide the toilet and basin and become a proper shower cubicle.

Better still, there is an expanding kitchen with a pull-out chopping board, worktop that extends across the aisle and a shelving unit for cooking utensils that slides away electrically. There’s even a restaurant-grade 138-litre drawer-style compressor fridge.

A 32in TV and Sonos sound system is also available, while the Fiat Ducato cab gets the Niesmann+Bischoff touch with the addition of a tablet/smartphone station with inductive charging.

The rear bedroom can be specified with twin beds of over 2m in length or a 2m by 1.4m island bed, while the headboard panel can be in a choice of four colours.

Of course, there’s a drop-down cab bed, too – one that disappears almost invisibly into the ceiling.

The 6.9 E has single beds and is 6.99m long, while the island bed 7.3 F model is longer at 7.29m. Both have a huge garage capable of carrying two cycles.

Payloads can be as much as 660kg on a 3,500kg chassis, but options are likely to eat into this. Likewise, prices in Europe start at €91,634 (£83,581 but note that UK prices have not been confirmed yet) but you’re sure to pay considerably more for a fully equipped example.
