New pop-top Proteus campervan from WildAx
Campervan manufacturer, WildAx, has launched a second campervan model based on the Ford Transit Custom.
Following on from its long-wheelbase, rear toilet layout WildAx Triton, the new Proteus adopts a more conventional side kitchen floorplan in the short-wheelbase Ford.
Launched at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC in February, the new campervan has a sliding rear seat equipped with three three-point seatbelts. This converts into a double bed and, as a roof bed is fitted as standard, the Proteus is a four-berth.
WildAx uses the Trend spec van for its conversion and equipment includes metallic paint, a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, air-conditioning, automatic lights and wipers, lane keeping alert, DAB radio, heated windscreen and front foglights.
With the standard 130PS engine, prices start at £51,675 ex-works. Options include alloy wheels, a solar panel, automatic gearbox, and Webasto diesel heating.
