Mercedes announces eVito improvements

Prices and further details have been announced for a new eVito van from Mercedes, following initial details announced earlier this year. This includes features that were added to the diesel eVito earlier this year and the fact you can now order an eVito in Plus specification.

Standard specification now includes the Audio 30 infotainment system with DAB, reversing camera, anti-theft Protection Package (double locks), a new-style grille and a Type 2 eight-metre 32A charging cable, which, Mercedes claims, allows for the fastest possible AC charging time, depending on where you are plugged into, obviously.

The new Plus specification sits above the standard Progressive offering, with electric folding mirrors, colour-coded bumpers, full wheel covers, a 75mph speed limited and Parktronic parking sensors.

What Mercedes is calling its evolved eVito, now offers 85kW of power, 300Nm of torque and a combined range WLTP of 92 miles (in the E drive mode). The battery charge time is six hours based on three-phase charging. There is a choice of two lengths, too.

Prices start from £40,895 – that’s a L2 35kwh van with Progressive trim – or £42,015 for the same van in Plus Package trim.

Whether this will be converted into a campervan, either by Mercedes for its own Marco Polo model or by another converter, only time will tell.
