Manor Farm Camping voted best CS campsite for 2018

Manor Farm Camping near Beverley has been voted The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Best Certificated Site (CS) for 2018.

Certificated Sites are small, privately run, campsites that are exclusively for club members. They can accommodate up to five caravans or motorhomes and up to ten tents at any one time. The awards are split into five categories and the winning sites are crowned based on the number of nominations they have received from Club members who camp on Certificated Sites. 

Manor Farm is set on a 10-acre smallholding and was set up in 2014 by site owner and long-time motorhomer, Catherine Barker. It is open all year and has a play area for kids, with pitches nearby as well as a quieter area of the site that's ideal for adults-only tourers. There's a motorhome service point, drying room and backpacker facilities, too.

Catherine says: “I have a young family and it’s been nice to get them involved in opening up our home for others to enjoy. We have a herd of pigs and dexter cows that campers are welcome to come and say hello to.”

Catherine added: “We also sell our own sausages, burgers and beef from a little cabin on site called the Farmer’s Den. From here we also sell home-produced bacon and bread and we have a big pizza oven too – Saturday night is pizza night and on Fridays we do a pie and peas special.”

Alongside taking the overall title for Best CS, Manor Farm also won the award for Best Family Site in the competition. The other category winners are: 

• Best New CS - Wern Ddu Farm, Oswestry, Powys
• Best Hideaway – The Osiers, West Ashling, West Sussex
• Best Facilities – Castle Camping, Mow Cop, Staffordshire
• Best Friendly Club Welcome (joint winners) – Cefn Cae Camping Site, Rowen, Conway and Brook House Farm, Middlewich, Cheshire
