Leisuredrive launches new VW campervan conversion

If you want a campervan that makes a statement and draws a crowd, rather than allows you to park up surreptitiously, then make your way to Bolton-based Leisuredrive and have a look at the Crusader Xtreme in bright orange.
The base VW T5 van features a plywood floor with a heavy-duty vinyl covering, cab carpet, insulation on the van sides, full warm carpet trim and three bonded windows. The roof is a full-size, side-lift mechanism or you can pay extra and get a front lift roof or a fully-fitted hi-top. The kitchen unit provides a Smev two-hob gas burner, grill and oven, sink with single tap, electronically pumped water and storage container plus a 60-litre capacity, three-way fridge.The passenger seat at the front swivels round into the lounge area while the double, forward-facing bench seat pulls out to form a large double bed. It’s also finished in the same colour scheme as the ‘van exterior. A Porta Potti is available at an additional cost.
Interior lighting comprises two spotlights over the bed area and three LED lights and there are two 12v sockets for your appliances while on the road. Heating is courtesy of a hot air system when you are hooked up to 240v mains.
The Premier Crusader is currently available on the VW T5, short wheelbase, 2.0-litre version from £39,990. This gives 101bhp but you can also order 138 and 177bhp versions as well. When the T6 comes online the Crusader Xtreme will switch over to this model during 2016. More details as they become available from leisuredrive.co.uk.
