Key to Eterna

Key to the change from the Classic to the Eterna is the adoption of a new Al-Ko STC chassis, which is completely flat, this allowing the creation of a deeper double floor, while a lower centre of gravity improves on-road handling. Importantly, the new chassis also offers a weight reduction, therefore increasing payloads compared with previous models.

Externally, the Eterna is also given a closer family resemblance to the Mercedes-based Héritage range, with a black band between the new full LED headlights. A new roof (also from its sister range) saves additional weight (around another 50kg).

Then, inside, the new Eterna benefits from a redesigned kitchen, new (lower weight) cab seats and a 150Ah lithium battery.

New 7m, 3,500kg layout

The Eterna range offers models from 6.80m up to 8.55m, with prices starting at £122,150. The most exciting development, however, is the addition of the new LV7.0GJF – a 3.5-tonne model with four travel seats and an overall length of 7.05m.

Le Voyageur is especially proud of the fact that this model allows customers with a Class B driving licence to choose a premium A-class where design has not been sacrificed to save weight. In fact, it can be ordered with up to 123kg of optional extra items, which the company claims is the best in its class.

The Eterna LV7.0GJF has a spacious front lounge with parallel settees and a fold-in-half table, while at the rear of the motorhome you’ll find single beds (2.01m and 1.88m long) in a very open bedroom design. Below is a garage with 1.20m headroom.

The most unusual aspect of the new model, however, is the washroom, which takes inspiration from the Neo by sister company, Frankia. Here, both the washbasin and the bench cassette toilet can slide away to create more space, a key factor in the Eterna’s super-sized shower which is another key reason to buy.

Inside, the rear bedroom features twin single beds – using the insert this bed would then measure 2.00m by 2.24m! Up front, there is the usual A-class drop-down bed, with a useful shelf at the front and a 1.90m by 1.40m mattress, and this can be extended to 2.00m by 1.90m

The lounge follows fashion with sumptuous leather sofas on either side. The table folds in half and there is space for a 21.5in TV to slide up into a secret compartment.

Aft of the habitation door, the galley has been completely revamped for this new range. We were certainly impressed by the supersized drawers and liked the modern black fittings but, more crucially, the 90-litre compressor fridge can be upgraded to a larger model and an oven is optional.

Le Voyageur’s designers have really gone to town in the washroom, where both the bench cassette toilet and the washbasin (complete with worktop and storage on each side) can slide away. That leaves a huge space for showering, surrounded by a tambour door screen.
