Hymer reveals flagship MasterLine motorhome range

German premium motorhome manufacturer, Hymer, has launched its latest premium coachbuilt A-class built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with Hymer’s own award-winning SLC chassis.

Called the B-Class MasterLine, this new range of two models, which range in weight between 4.43 tonnes and 4.5 tonnes, is the first to come with Hymer’s new Iconic Signature exterior design. A particular highlight is the panoramic windscreen, which merges directly into the slightly curved side walls without visible A-pillars, thus enabling a particularly wide field of view.

Building on this new Iconic Signature design are touches such as a black grill and glossy radiator frame with chrome trim, as well as the LED fog lights and a GRP rear that includes an integrated rear light moulding.

There is also an extra-wide entrance door, which has been redesigned and optimally integrated into the living area. There is also a garage in both of these initial models with a standard payload of up to 350kg.

Both of the new models – the B-ML 780 and B-ML 790, which are both four-berth and 7.89m long – come with a double floor that accommodates all of the technical components and water tanks while still providing 1.98m of headroom throughout thanks to the level floor.

Under the bonnet is Mercedes’ Sprinter diesel engines, with an optional 177bhp output which is available exclusively for motorhomes and is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or the 9-speed automatic transmission.

As is becoming standard with Mercedes-based motorhomes, there are numerous safety and assistance systems fitted as standard, including Crosswind Assist and Brake Assist System.

Inside, Hymer’s Grand Oak furniture finish has been combined with elements in matt white and darker Velvet Ash colour accents.

Hymer has added further touches, such as a high-quality quilted wool fabric detailing in the wardrobe and wall coverings. And all wall areas in the cab are covered with fabric-laminated moulded parts to integrate the living space and cab.

The lounge is made up of the twin swivel captain’s seats in the cab, which turn to face an L-shaped sofa that has two forward-facing travel seats with headrests that can be stowed inside when on site. There is a final side-facing single seat and a multi-direction fixed table to complete the lounge/dining area.

Just behind the lounge is the kitchen, which has a three-in-line gas hob and circular sink. Opposite this kitchen area is a double-hinged fridge/freezer with doors that can be opened in both directions and, above an oven and grill.

Between the kitchen and the rear bedroom are the washroom facilities, with the shower on one side and the loo and washbasin opposite.

For privacy, the living area can be separated from the sleeping area using the WC’s door. Finally, in the rear is where the two models differ with the 780 having twin rear single beds that are over two metres long and almost 90cm wide, while the B-Class MasterLine 790 has a 200cm by 156cm electrically height-adjustable island bed. Both have a double bed that drops down from above the cab.
