Hire out your motorhome or caravan to benefit the environment, says Camplify
Camplify – the UK’s fastest-growing caravan, campervan and motorhome sharing community – is urging owners to hire out their leisure vehicle to other holidaymakers in a bid to help save the planet
With an increased demand for UK holidays in 2022, many newcomers to motorhomes, caravans and campervans are looking to hire rather than head abroad – and Camplify says that this alone will reduce carbon emissions for potential holidaymakers:
On average, return flights from the UK to Europe account for a massive 250kg to 500kg of carbon dioxide per person. However, travelling 250 miles in a petrol car towing a mid-size caravan would only create around 38kg per person – reducing emissions by a staggering 85 to 92%.
In addition, ‘sharing’ a motorhome, campervan or caravan will account for fewer new leisure vehicle purchases, which not only limits the number of vehicles on the road but will also decrease the demand for new leisure vehicle production, in turn lowering the environmental expense from industrial manufacturing.

Whilst thousands of campervan and motorhome owners are already listing their vehicle on Camplify, sharing the joys of camping with others and reaping the benefits that inevitably come as part of that, many of the UK’s 1.1-million registered leisure vehicles don’t get used for more than two weeks of the year.
We are here to bring a new lease of life to these vehicles and make ‘vanlife’ accessible to everyone, so holidaymakers can experience a unique – and of course planet-friendly – getaway and campervan and motorhome owners can turn their vehicle into a new source of income and combat rising costs.
