Globecar launches new entry-level campervan

German campervan specialist, Globecar, has launched a new budget model, priced from £42,495. Called the Globescout Plus, the newcomer uses a Peugeot Boxer base, rather than the usual Fiat Ducato, to keep the price down and is now available in the UK in limited numbers via importers, SMC of Newark.

The Globescout Plus adopts the familiar Globescout layout with a half-dinette lounge and a rear transverse fixed bed. It is based on a 5.99m long-wheelbase Boxer panel van with 3,500kg gross weight and 160bhp 2-litre HDi Euro 6 engine.

Included as standard are metallic paint and the Plus Pack, consisting cruise control, Traction Plus, cab air-conditioning, radio preparation, alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, LED headlights, cab blinds and Solana upholstery.

The layout also features a kitchen with two-burner hob, sink and 80-litre three-way fridge, while the washroom opposite comes with a swivel cassette toilet, oval stainless-steel basin, roof vent, opening window and a false floor over the shower tray.
