Dreamer reveals first pop-top campervan

The French Rapido’s Group’s specialist campervan brand, Dreamer, has revealed its first pop-up roof model fitted with a panoramic Skyview roof.

The four-berth campervan – called the D43 Up Red Addict – has four travel seats and a rear transverse double bed (1.92m by 1.3m narrowing to 1.1m) and a second double bed (2.0m by 1.3m) located in the pop-up roof. The rear bed folds up to allow larger items such as cycles to be carried.

Forward of the rear bed is a well-equipped washroom with shower, swivel flushing loo, fixed washbasin, opening window and plenty of storage. There is a kitchenette opposite with a twin-burner gas hob, circular sink and 90-litre compressor fridge with freezer compartment. A 20-litre oven/grill is an option although it is likely most UK models will have this included.

At the front there is the forward-facing half-dinette bench seat, swivel cab seats and an extendable table. But the highlight of this front lounge is the full-width Skyview skylight above the cab.

The 5.41m-long, 3.5-tonne Fiat Ducato-based campervan (with the more powerful 140bhp diesel engine) has a huge payload of 605kg and is an adaptation of the current D43 Fun, but comes with unique red metallic Profondo paintwork combined with matt black exterior décor and a front gloss black grill and side skid plates. A White Addict version is also available.

The D43 UP Red Addict also benefits from an enhanced specification and gets extras such as cruise control, electric heated mirrors, LED daytime running lights, cab air-con, leather steering wheel and gear knob, carpets in the cab, 16-inch alloy wheels, Arizona upholstery, Truma Combi D heating system, as well as the Fun+ pack and that unique Skyview roof as standard.

The French campervan brand is sold in the UK by seven dealers – five in England, one in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland. UK prices for these two new campervans have not yet been confirmed.
