Dometic launches air con unit for larger motorhomes

Dometic has expanded its air-conditioner portfolio with the launch of the new FreshJet 3000, a lightweight, high-capacity model for larger motorhomes.

The Dometic FreshJet 3000 comes with a dual-cylinder inverter compressor featuring a smart speed control system for quieter and more efficient cooling and heating. The design is also more compact and offers greater energy efficiency.

With a nominal compressor capacity of 3,600W, the new air-conditioner has enough power to keep motorhomes that are seven metres long and beyond cool in summer or warm on cold days.

Its most innovative aspect is a speed-controlled dual-cylinder inverter compressor. Together with an optimised fan system, it makes the unit quieter and more efficient. Conventional compressors switch off once the temperature has been reached which leads to vibrations and high start-up currents once it restarts. The new inverter compressor does not switch off, rather, it ‘sleeps’ until it’s about time to start up again. As a result, vibration is kept at a minimum and there is no current peak during start-ups. The air-conditioner can be made even quieter by activating the energy-saving sleep mode. 

The new FreshJet 3000 weighs 36kg, which, says Dometic, is a unique achievement in this category. The air flow, temperature and LED lighting can all be adjusted by a remote control or via the touch-panel on the air distribution box.

In Europe it'll set you back €2,795, although UK prices have not yet been confirmed.
