Campervanners enjoy twice as many holidays as the average Brit!

Campervanners enjoy twice as many holidays as the average Brit, according to a new survey from the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Looking at the holiday habits of British holidaymakers, the survey — run by Censuswide on behalf of the Caravan and Motorhome Club — revealed that campervanners enjoy around eight trips of a weekend away or longer every year, compared to four breaks maximum for the average Brit.

And the key to a successful holiday? Almost half of those surveyed said that it's the freedom to go where and then they wanted at the drop of a hat, with our love of the great outdoors coming in second (30 per cent). And it seems Bristol dog owners enjoy a pet-friendly holiday more than most, with almost three-quarters of Bristol dog owners saying they would have a better holiday if their dog were to come too (compared to 70% per cent in the rest of the nation).

Asides from our beloved dogs, the survey revealed David Attenborough to be the nation’s favourite holiday companion, closely followed by James Cordon and Jennifer Aniston. It also found that although the US came out as the top road trip destination, campervanners prefer to stay close to home, with almost 50 per cent citing the UK as their dream destination.
