Aberdeenshire attraction offers free motorhome stopovers to visitors

An attraction in Aberdeenshire, northeast Scotland, is offering motorhomers a free secure stopover when they visit.

The Grampian Transport Museum has launched a new motorhome and campervan initiative for those who are touring in the area. Motorhome and campervan owners arriving before the museum's closing time can buy their tickets for the following day before overnighting in the museum’s extensive, secure grounds free of charge, ready for a visit to the museum the next day.

Although the museum currently has no facilitites for motorhomers,  is open seven days a week from March to October and close to local eateries in the area.

Grampian Transport Museum, tucked away in the quiet village of Alford, Aberdeenshire, is a family-friendly Scottish Tourist Board four-star visitor attraction with a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. It houses significant collections and exhibitions celebrating all forms of land transport including horse-drawn carriages, cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles (including steam) with displays on the history, the present and the future of transport.
