Taking pets with you in your motorhome

You may never have considered it possible to keep pets when  travelling, or you might take them already and be constantly frustrated at their skittishness and general ‘pet-ness’

Here are a few tips to help you take your pet on the road successfully;

Help your pet settle in

Before your pets first journey, try parking up in the driveway and spend the night there. Help your pet to settle in by waiting for them to choose their spot, then feed them treats there.  Place treats and titbits around your motorhome to help your pet associate your ‘van with safety and food.

Get Collars and Tags

You can really take away a lot of the worry with your cats and dogs venturing off into the wild when you pull up for the vening now. With GPS colalrs ever-reducing in price, it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.
Failing that, a sturdy collar with details of your number will help you find them all the more quickly if they go missing.

Keep them cool

We all know that when you’re in Spain or Portugal in the height of Summer, your motorhome can get unbearably hot for ourselves. Imagine having a non-removable fur coat. Always make sure your pet has access to water, and if they aren't scared of it a fan.

Call ahead!

Whilst some sites welcome pets with open arms, some are still a little funny about them, whereas others have specific restrictions regarding certain breeds or sizes of dog.
