Motorhome accessory review: Kitvision Car DAB Adaptor

7c3fb1de-cb08-40cd-93f0-bcbdf1424d8f

If you are not quite ready for the world of internet radio (see the Pure Radio review in December 2018), but want to enjoy the choice of digital radio while driving your FM-only equipped motorhome, there is a solution.

Rather than go through the hassle of changing for a DAB radio you can use this nifty little device to play digital radio through your cab speakers. Naively, I rather thought this might be a plug and play device, not thinking at all about the digital aerial needed.

That’s why there is a small amount of installation to do before first use. You might need to remove trim to do this.

To operate, plug it into the power and use the aux cable into your cab radio or tune to a blank FM frequency and match this on the adaptor.

Preset your favourite stations and then simply tune in, or pair it with your music player using Bluetooth, to play your music through the cab speakers.

So, if you’ve still got a radio in the cab with a tape deck or even a CD player that only receives analogue radio, you can join the digital revolution for just £49.99 and some fiddling about with cables.
