Horizons Leisure Vehicles Ltd

When Horizons Unlimited was established in 1992, it began as a sole trader, run by owner David Pegg, his brother and son Stephen. They originally started out in a modest way, carrying out caravan services and fitting tow bars and accessories within the local catchment area of Tamworth in Staffordshire. This work tended to be seasonal, so to keep them fully occupied during the winter months they decided to build a motor home, which sold so quickly that they immediately altered their priorities and have continued along the same lines ever since.

All Horizons Unlimited motorhomes were previously sold through a third party, but they will now be sold and marketed solely from the new company, which they have named Horizons Leisure Vehicles Limited. The highly acclaimed vehicles that the company produces, the Cavarno the Innovation and now the brand new Cavarno, will continue to be sold under the Horizons Unlimited brand name, which is so widely recognised throughout the industry and which has attracted a devoted following among the motorhome buying public.

The 2011 models based on the short, medium and long wheelbase Ford Transit, have recently been restyled, with new doors, tables and a range of worktop laminates to choose from. To add a personal and unique touch to any of the conversions, a wide choice of furniture wood veneers and hardwoods is also available, some of them at an additional cost if your tastes veer towards the exotic.

The Cavarno XL is the flagship of the range, a long wheelbase vehicle aiming to compete with van conversions at the very top end of the market, using real wood edgings, as favoured by the likes of IH. It is based on the Cavarno 2, but the extra length enables a fully functioning kitchen and a roomier washroom. Rear passengers will fully approve of the newly designed seats, which have back rests far more forgiving than those commonly found elsewhere. The bed mechanism is also very free running and easy to convert, which is not the case in many other designs. You have to pay for all these refinements, the Cavarno 2 is always there to fall back on if your budget falls a little short.

The two new conversions for 2011 are built to the same high standards as the Cavarno and the Innovation but instead of the familiar Fords, these are based on the Peugeot Boxer.
The Camaro DB is based on the short wheelbase Boxer and first appeared at the end of April this year. A further new model will be ready in August, this time based on the medium wheelbase version. Both highly specified models will have on-the-road starting prices of £39,990, but there are extras that can be added if you really want to spoil yourself.

There is an increasing demand for specialised vehicles which have the usual motorhome facilities, but which are adapted to cater for the special requirements of those who take part in activities such as karting, motocross, or any outdoor activities that require carrying areas inside the vehicle. With this in mind, the Race Station range is based on either the Volkswagen Crafter or the Mercedes Sprinter and is designed to provide a 7’ x 4’ integral garage space for bikes or specialised hobby or sports equipment, as well as a luxurious living area. Prices for the Race Station begin at £ £39,500.

Customers can also have their own vehicle converted or their existing motorhome upgraded.
Horizon also provide other services such as habitation checks and mechanical services. Caravans can also be serviced and repaired, also towbars, accessories and trackers fitted.
