Engine re-mapping with Wow! Tuning

ef87c8a0-6070-49a8-adfe-1dca841860fd
IMAGINE getting into your vehicle and suddenly discovering up to 30% more power.

Your vehicle’s throttle response is now sharper, turbo lag and flat spots have been eliminated, gear changes arrive sooner; your whole vehicle feels livelier, as though you had chosen the bigger engine option. These are just some of the benefits you will enjoy with a Wow! Tuning remap.

Gains of between 8 - 16 % in MPG and 25 - 30% increases in power are typical when remapping or chipping a motorhome or tow-car. The gains in MPG are achievable by being able to drive the vehicle in a more efficient manner, i.e. by being able to move up a gear sooner and hold that gear for a greater time. Drivers of the Peugeot/Fiat 2.8JTD will particularly benefit from being able to hold 5th gear 100% of the time on nearly all roads.

For example, these actual test results from a 2006 Fiat Ducato 2.8JTD motorhome speak for themselves.

0-50mph: before 19.8 seconds - after 13.7 seconds (31% quicker)
0-60mph: before 26.2 seconds after 20.3 seconds (22% quicker)
0-70mph before 43.8 seconds after 34.7 seconds (21% quicker)
30-50mph before 16.5 seconds after 9.4 seconds (43% quicker)
50-70mph before 23.3 seconds after 13.6 seconds (41% quicker)

The figures above make for so much relaxed, safer and easier driving, but returned the following figures when taken over a 600 mile test.

MPG before = 23.1mpg MPG after = 26.5mpg, showing a 14.7% improvement.

So what enables this hidden potential to be suddenly released?

Most manufacturers sell their vehicles all over the world and have to allow for differing conditions within each export market. Conditions such as climate, emissions regulations and fuel quality are all taken into account.

They also have to take into account the average expectations of many commercial vehicle fleet buyers, who are quite happy to accept a compromise that copes adequately with average commercial use, not necessarily what is most effective when those same vehicles are converted for use as motorhomes.

What is involved?

Wow! Tuning mobile unitsECU remapping is carried out through the diagnostic socket of the vehicle, requiring no removal or even physical disturbance of any engine components.
Wow! Tuning can provide either an Economy or Power remap, both of which have been specifically designed for motorhomes. Our mobile team operates nationwide and can advise you of the best solution for your individual requirements.

Will my vehicle be suitable for re-mapping?

Wow! Tuning can remap any ECU that can be accessed from the vehicle’s internal serial port, but older vehicles can be chip tuned if necessary. Virtually all motorhomes are covered, from a range that includes the Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato, Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen Transporter and Renault Master.

When we perform ECU remapping we are basically altering these maps to optimise the engine performance. The biggest gains can be seen from turbo diesel and turbo petrol engines but please contact us for figures.

Other benefits that you will notice after ECU remapping are increased throttle response, increased torque, improved drivability and improved fuel economy.

So why choose ECU remapping over a diesel tuning box?

We believe that ECU remapping is far superior to the diesel tuning boxes. We can correctly set up and optimise various settings within the ECU controls, whereas some diesel tuning boxes merely trick the ECU into providing more fuel, which can lead to problems such as excessive black smoke, engine check lights and more.

Wow! Motorhome has offices and support nationwide, with un-matched technical experience of motorhome remapping and chip tuning. Wow! Tuning is also the key player in the tuning market for cars, vans and trucks.

They offer a lifetime warranty and 30-day, no-quibble, money back guarantee. Never has it been easier to get better fuel economy and a greatly enhanced driving experience.
