Now into its 106th year, this annual event attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to its 600-plus stands at London’s Earls Court exhibition centre.Flying the flag for the park and holiday home lifestyle were Prestige and the Dream Lodge Group.
Pride of place was taken by a brand-new design called the Casa Di Lusso, a joint effort between the two companies.
This twin-unit lodge, available in two widths (20ft and 22ft) as well as three lengths (40ft, 45ft and 50ft), can best be described as a traditional home with a contemporary twist.
A first for Prestige, the Casa Di Lusso has a split-level roof. Inside, another first for this park and holiday home manufacturer is a four-poster bed. Plus a new design of coving designed to get round the age-old problem in such homes of cracks appearing at the join between the ceiling and the walls.
There are several other features of the two-bedroom Casa Di Lusso which reinforce its credentials as a lodge. They include real-wood-clad interior walls (as well as a cedar-clad exterior) plus plank-effect ceramic tiles in the bathroom and master bedroom en-suite.
That’s not to mention plenty of ‘distressed wood’ trim inside, a laminate floor throughout and traditional-style freestanding timber furniture. Mustn’t forget either the mock log-burning stove (in reality an electric fire) complete with a supply of genuine logs.
