Lodgico – The real alternative

386a129d-f811-477d-942a-77b31ce59c62
IF you want to find out just what Lodgico can offer, tune in to the cable channel UKTV Home next month. The company is currently building a large log cabin bungalow in Tiverton in Devon that will be featured on a new programme, My Flatpack Home.

It’s a perfect example of one aspect of Lodgico’s wide range of expertise that extends from picnic benches, garden cabins and al fresco grill houses to mobile homes, ‘bungalodges’ and two storey log homes.

The company has supplied local authorities with children’s centres, provided nursery buildings for schools, raised residential properties, and even constructed a home for Capuchin moneys at Monkey World in Dorset!

And it prides itself on providing a one-stop service – from building design, through planning, building control, construction and even furnishings.

Warm but cool

One of the company’s specialities is producing mobile log cabins built from solid log kits imported from Finland.

The homes are manufactured from the best quality Finnish softwood and are available in round log or laminated flat log styles. Solid logs breathe, filtering air and creating a better atmosphere in the building – a situation that is proven to benefit asthma sufferers, for instance.

No only that, they also control humidity within a building, keeping it within limits known to be optimal for living.

And solid log has a thermal mass that means it is a better insulator, keeping the home warm in winter and cool in summer.

LODGICO MOBILE HOMES

CLOVELLY – At he top of the Lodgico mobile log cabin range is the Clovelly. This model is designed with two large double bedrooms, both with en suite facilities (one with
bath and shower, one with shower only), and each with patio doors, plus a traditional Finnish sauna and a massive centrally-placed, open plan living area, also with patio doors. The Clovelly measures 22ft x 54ft and has an ex works price of £96,050.

TOTNES – At 22ft x 40ft, with a front end living area, the Totnes has a more conventional layout, but it still provides three double-bedrooms, one with en suite shower, plus a separate family bathroom. This costs £72,250 ex works.

INSTOW – Also at £72,250 ex works, and measuring 22ft x 42ft, the Instow has a similar front end layout to the Totnes, but with two double bedrooms. The massive master bedroom comes complete with an en suite shower room.

LUNDY – This is a smaller version of the Instow/Totnes design, with just one double bedroom and a separate shower room. At 34ft x 22ft, the Lundy costs £57,800
ex works.

LYNTON – If you porefer your kitchen/diner separate from the lounge, the Lynton is ideal. It is a compact 22ft x 32ft, with a corner lounge and two twin or double bedrooms separated by a bathroom. This also costs £57,800 ex works.

BAMPTON – If your budget or plot can only stretch to a single unit lodge, the 14ft x 36ft Bampton provides two double/twin bedrooms, a centrally-positioned lounge/dining area, a separate galley-style kitchen and a shower room, all for £39,950 ex works.

EXMOOR – The entry level model is this 14ft x 24ft model, which has a in-built front porch that extends the length to 30ft. It has one double/twin bedroom, an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area and a separate bathroom. It costs £29,750
ex works.
