THE Côte d’Azur is often thought of as one of the more exclusive holiday regions of France – after all, St Tropez, Cannes, Antibes and Nice are all spread out along the coast here, honey pots for the jet set.

But you could own your own fully-installed holiday home on a good-sized plot just a short hop from these hot spots of the French Riviera, for less than £40,000.

British company Own A Holiday Home is offering new mobile homes from Willerby, IRM and other manufacturers on the lovely Camping Les Cigales parc close to the town of Le Muy, just 25 minutes from the coast and 55 minutes from Nice airport.

The parc, situated in the Var countryside, is well established, with 225 pitches, and has recently been taken over by new owners and management. Much of the site is pleasantly shaded, and there is a good range of facilities, including two pools (rectangular and lagoon-style), bar and restaurant (which offers takeaway meals), a shop selling basic items, including fruit and vegetables, and a small fishing lake.

More energetic pursuits are well catered for as well, with a multi-sports pitch, fitness room, tennis courts and table tennis, while mountain bike and walking excursions are planned weekly throughout high season. There is even-ing entertainment in peak season, too.

Situated where it is, the parc gives easy access to the delights of the inland Var region. Away from the hustle and bustle of the coast you can explore local vineyards and typical Provençal towns such as Aups and Salernes. But if you prefer the beach life, the sea is just 20km away at Sainte Maxime.

For 2010 a number of plots of 200m2 will be available at Les Cigales for privately owned mobile homes. Plots of this size are rare in this area and are bound to be much sought after.

Own A Holiday Home can arrange viewing trips at a cost of just £99 per couple for two nights accommodation (travel to the parc not included) – and that sum is refundable when a holiday home purchase is confirmed.

During the stay, Own A Holiday Home reps will show you all the facil-ities and the range of pitches available and introduce you to the staff.
