What a great escape!

Visitors to this show couldn’t have asked for more over the weekend with hundreds of exhibitors, fantastic evening entertainment and a great-value rally area to camp in.

This year’s Midsummer Great Escape took place in the grounds of the stunning countryside estate, Belvoir Castle, near Grantham in Lincolnshire. And my, what a show it was!

Campers started to arrive in their hundreds on the sunny Thursday morning with many of you joining the MMM Members Club rally area. A toe in the water exercise for the magazine, the rally area seemed to go down a treat with almost 750 of you making the most of the rally area’s prime location, discounted price and goody bag.

Club members camping in the MMM rally area were even treated to a free hog roast on the Thursday evening – we do spoil you! If you became a member of the MMM Club at the show, welcome aboard! But if you’re still waiting to subscribe, click here for a fantastic offer and start reaping the benefits of membership today.

On the Friday morning, the exhibition area opened at 9.30am, with flocks of campers and day visitors flooding in. After all, there was plenty to see and do with hundreds of exhibitors, a varied food court area and plenty of daytime entertainment and activities – some of you even took to the castle’s lake with Desperate Measures, one of our canoe and kayak exhibitors. Little ones were kept entertained too, with a great fun fair area including a bouncy castle.

For those of you interested in more of a leisurely amble around the show, there was a French market, selling freshly baked baguettes, and a real ale bar sponsored by Castle Rock – what better place to sit back and think about your next purchase!

Like always, the show was fully stocked with new and used ‘vans and over the weekend, we saw plenty of 'sold' signs being slapped across windscreens – so we look forward to seeing everyone in their new motorhomes at the next show!

The evening entertainment, which is exclusive to campers, is never a let down and this year’s two open-air concerts were no exception, with a Robbie Williams tribute act, Grease and The Last Night of the Proms taking centre stage.

If you missed the Midsummer Great Escape, there’s still time to get away from it all and relax at our next show, the Northern Motorcaravan Show. The Cheshire show takes place from July 15-17 at the Knutsford Showground and the camping booking deadline is at 9am on June 24 – don’t miss out! Click here to book.
