Webasto launches new 12V fridges for campervans, motorhomes and caravans

The Freeline Slim 140 has a capacity of 140 litres, despite its width of just 41.8cm. Although it has an integrated two-star freezer compartment with a capacity of 17 litres, this refrigerator consumes only 450Wh/24h to help reduce power consumption.

Its efficiency is facilitated by using the R290 refrigerant, which is not only highly energy-efficient, but also environmentally friendly. Additionally, it boasts high insulation that also adds to its high efficiency rating.It has a new Silent Night function that can be selected for a maximum of 10 hours and reduces the compressor speed making the refrigerator quieter.

It also has a new Smart function that, during periods when the fridge is powered by 230V hook-up, it cools its contents to a lower temperature than required. When the fridge subsequently draws power from the vehicle’s battery, it consumes less electricity by utilising the cold that had been previously stored. 

The second new refrigerator to be launched is the BI 30, a small, powerful refrigerator fitted with a new microcompressor designed for very compact ’vans. The top-access fridge and has a low energy consumption and a 30-litre capacity. It is also fitted with a digital thermostat with temperature display. Both can be retro-fitted although the top-loading BI 30 will need a custom-made unit.

Prices are expected to be about £700 for the Freeline Slim 140 and £650 for the BI 30 and can be ordered from any of Webasto’s RV dealers.
