Top award for Far Grange

FAR GRANGE Caravan Park in Yorkshire is celebrating for a third time after winning the Yorkshire Tourist Board’s White Rose Award for Caravan Park of the Year.
The park, at Skipsea in East Yorkshire, is the first site to win the award three times.

Mike McCann, managing director, and his wife Shirley collected the award at a celebration dinner. Their daughter, Sonja Day, who is also a director of the company, said: "We have won the award twice before in 1996/97 and 2003/04. We entered it this year not really thinking we could win it for a third time, especially as caravan parks have become so competitive.”

“We now go forward to the national finals which we have won twice before, which no-one else has done, but I doubt we would win that three times, but you never know," said Mrs Day.

Far Grange includes a leisure centre, swimming pool and has been building up its adjoining golf course over the past five years. It is now hoping to win the national prize at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, which will be held in April 2007.
