New Lunar and Venus caravans for 2017

The long-established Lunar Clubman and Lunar Delta ranges get a startling new look for 2017 with glossy black front panels and vivid blue graphics.

A new model joins the line-up. The Clubman SR has an island bed at the rear and a centrally located shower and separate washroom. Two sliding doors partition this area from the bedroom. This layout concept was introduced to the longer, twin-axle Delta range last year; the new Clubman version means this layout is now available in a shorter, single-axle format.

A new model is announced in the Quasar range. The 674 is a twin-axle transverse bed model with a tall fridge-freezer. This is the same layout as the TI model in the top-spec Delta range. The Quasar version gives buyers the opportunity to get this luxury layout at £6800 than the Delta TI; the Quasar 674 is priced at £19,999.

Also new from the Lunar stable is a six-berth in the lightweight Venus line-up. The Venus 590/6 has a rear family area containing bunks and a nearside three-seater table that transforms into two bunks.

All models in the Lunar portfolio get a new design for the base of the bed which makes up in the lounge. The slatted base which rolled out from under the front locker is replaced by two base frames which draw out from under each settee.

All of Lunar’s ranges get specification enhancements for the new model year. These include the introduction of domestic-style pop-up washbasin drainers.

Lunar has 21 models across its two brands, Venus and Lunar, for 2017.

Quasar

Strong blue graphics define the 2017 Quasars. Sky-view roof lights now have surrounds with inset lights. There’s a new-style ceiling light with a dimmer feature. Chrome taps are introduced, replacing the cream ones of 2016.

Lexon

The major news for Lexon is the introduction of sunroofs. Corner lockers are on each side of the sunroof. Pleated blinds are introduced to this range, as are new-style top locker doors with white inset panels. There’s an additional washroom cabinet, and lighting now lines the fascia panel above the front window.

Lexon fabrics are dark grey with a subtle brown tone, matching the rock-effect worktops.

Stellar

The two-berth Lunar Stellar, L-shaped kitchen model, which has the same spec as the Lexon range, has longer settees for 2017, enabling them to be used as single beds. They are now 1.93m, an increase of 9cm.

Clubman and Delta

In addition to the black front panels (the gas locker door, A-frame cover, window surround and panels on each side of the sunroof), models in both the Delta and Clubman ranges also now have a light to illuminate the gas bottle locker. Graphics are vivid blue and black, representing a departure from formerly less prominent graphics styles on these models.

The two-berth Clubman CK now has longer settees, at 1.93m, an increase of 9cm, and a new style split level dresser with TV provision.

Clubman and Delta fabrics feature yellows in curtains and cushions. An alternative fabric scheme (£299 extra) has suede-effect Aquaclean material for the seating, with deep purple for the cushions and curtains, in a big roundel design. The purple shade appears also in a band across the backrests, dividing the main plain fawn fabric from cream top sections.

Venus

The new six-berth Venus offers families a spacious lightweight option with a long kitchen, which offers copious storage, and a lounge capable of providing single beds as an alternative to making a double. The Venus 590’s washroom is on the offside, opposite the kitchen, and contains a separate shower.

All Venus models have fully plastic-lined showers for 2017.

Venus furnishings for 2017 blend pale grey-fawn with paler fawn curtains and cushions featuring a pattern in bright turquoise. Top locker doors and the wardrobe door are in a light cream colour.

Venus models get a new look on the exterior, too, with, with bright red graphics.
