New caravans from Bailey for 2012

Bailey Olympus 540-5

Bailey is launching two new family layouts for 2012. The five-berth 540-5 with two fixed bunks, is based on the Bailey Pegasus Ancona which, since its launch last year, has become Bailey’s fourth best selling model. The six-berth, fixed-bed, twin-axle Bailey Olympus 620-6 follows the layout of the former Bailey Ranger GT60, with a nearside fixed bed and offside two-seater dining area which makes into bunks.

Bailey has reduced the Olympus range from seven to four.

The second generation of Bailey Olympus has a new look, with walnut-shade cabinets and new fabrics. Overhead locker doors are new to Olympus – they’re curved, like those in Bailey’s Pegasus and Unicorn models.

Also new for 2012 are:
A gas locker door in white, replacing the dark grey door of 2011 models.

LED lights set into the bases of the overhead lockers and in the ceiling above the kitchen.
Belfast-style large capacity washroom sinks.

Wrap-around lounge seating, with both bolster and scatter cushions. And you get an option of buying a chest of drawers instead of the U-shaped seating.

Also on the options list is the AL-KO ATC stability control system, AL-KO Secure wheel locks and an inboard water tank. The tank is of the same design as those fitted to Pegasus and Unicorn models. It is inserted through a hatch on the offside and connected to the water system via a pipe which slides into its top. You take the tank outside to fill it – the advantage is that if taps on a campsite are frozen, you can wheel the tank to the shower building to obtain water.

Weights have yet to be announced, along with exact prices.

Bailey has, though, given us approximate prices. The 460-2 will be around £14,000; the 530-4 and the 540-5 around £15,000 and the 620-6 will be about £16,500.
